Eastern Africa is on a balance beam. They have been plagued by natural disasters, poverty, and political unrest over many years. There has also been a major push from Islam into these countries. However, the Christians here are not prepared to back down for any reason. As a matter of fact Christianity is counted as one of the reasons for some of the major reconciliation movements between rivals in East Africa. God is at work in this region of the world. The Christians here are not going to sit idly by and wait for ministry to come to their countries anymore. Instead, they are striving to build a mission force. One that can impact their region and beyond with the Gospel for generations to come.

In East Africa we have ongoing work with ministry partners and the invites for training continue to build. If you want to know more about what is happening in East Africa with our partners see the countries listed below. If you’re ready to help us prepare native East Africans for ministry and provide them with the resources they need to become a mission force that can move without waiting see our project page here.

Burundi - There is a chance for Burundi to be the center of a mission force that could spread throughout East Africa. Our ministry partner in this location is Evariste “Eva” Harerimana. Eva is one of the best trainers we have on our team of trainers and is currently mentoring many young men in how to also train and teach at churches throughout the region. We continue to serve Eva and the team in Africa by offering continued training alongside of them.

Burundi is also our flagship for our Business as Mission (BAM) ministry called MissionConnect. In places like Burundi that do not have funds for giving, many ministries are turning to generating income in order to see mission happen.

After an initial investment from Mission Connect and a team of Burundians, Eva and his team have started generating revenue through a cafe, a guest house, and renting to businesses. These finances are then turned around and used for training and ministry throughout Burundi. To stay up to date on Burundi and the ministry there, please subscribe to our Epistle page to learn more.

Uganda - For the past two years, MissionConnect has committed to investing in Abraham and his family as they focus on bringing sustainability models and ministry opportunities to the people of Uganda. In this project, Abraham has designed a small property that captures rainwater to irrigate and uses rabbit feces to fertilize his organic fruits and vegetables. Adding solar power in the future makes this a one-of-a-kind small agrarian homestead as a model for more ministers to follow, allowing them to live completely off their property and serve their congregation and community well. These homes will be able to sustain pastors and offer extra food to those in need helping train those in ministry throughout Uganda, building a long-term mission force!
