East Africa is at a critical crossroads, facing natural disasters, poverty, political unrest, and a rising influence of Islam. Despite these challenges, Christians in the region are determined to stand firm in their faith. Christianity has even played a key role in reconciliation efforts across East Africa. God is moving, and local believers are now actively building a mission force to spread the Gospel throughout the region and beyond for generations to come.

In East Africa, we are working with ministry partners who are eager for training and support. To learn more about our ongoing work, see the countries listed below.

Burundi

Burundi has the potential to become the center of a mission force that could impact all of East Africa. Our partner, Evariste “Eva” Harerimana, is an exceptional trainer, mentoring young leaders to serve as teachers and trainers in local churches. We continue to support Eva and his team with ongoing training.

Burundi also serves as the flagship for our Business as Mission (BAM) initiative, MissionConnect. In regions with limited financial resources, generating income through business ventures is essential for sustaining ministry. Eva and his team have launched a café, a guest house, and rental spaces to generate revenue. These funds are reinvested into training and ministry efforts across the country. Uganda

For the past two years, MissionConnect has invested in Abraham and his family to bring sustainable ministry models to Uganda. Abraham has developed a small property that captures rainwater for irrigation and uses rabbit manure to fertilize organic produce. Plans for solar power will make this homestead a self-sustaining model for pastors, enabling them to serve their communities while supporting their families. This project will train pastors, provide for local needs, and build a lasting mission force across Uganda.
