Throughout Southeast Asia there is a pull towards making sure the traditions are kept alive. This results in crackdowns on religions besides Hinduism. Although Christianity is not the only religion that is persecuted in the area, the churches are not able to openly share the gospel. For that reason, we don’t share everything that happens here on our page out of an abundance of caution for our partners in those countries. We do share more specific updates of our ministry to this region and what our partners are doing with the training and resources they have receieved through our Epistle Updates that you can subscribe to here.
We do want to let you know about some of the doors God has opened and the work that is happening!
It’s amazing to see how the church works in the midst of persecution. Their faithfulness in worshipping Christ and being witnesses to what he is doing is amazing. Our first training was in the city and saw right around a hundred young church leaders come to learn more about practical ministry tools. This training was received so well we were invited back to enter into more rural areas and continue to grow the training.
This area was also the birthplace of the idea for MissionConnect. So many pastors that are trained and ready to serve a local church end up having to go elsewhere due to needing to make a living. By providing training for avenues of funding for missionaries and pastors we are able to help them remain in the region and minister effectively.
