As we continue to grow, YMI is being asked by churches and ministries abroad to supply them with mission teams that will help them further their ministry. Each year, we open up new sites. We take the process of doing this very seriously. Prior to opening a new mission location, YMI send staff members to personally visit with the missionary or host church. We do this so that we can build a relationship with our global ministry partners and to ensure that the site is adequate for hosting a team or interns. While this may take extra time, it is well worth it. Learning more about the people we work with and the ministry that our teams and interns will share in is vital to the continued ministry of YMI and those we serve. This also helps us to ensure that the interns and groups we send are involved in authentic ministry. Authentic ministry is crucial to the development of young Christian leaders, giving them the opportunity to utilize their training in real-life ministry situations. This is why our site visits and the work done to verify new locations is so critical. When you give to this, you are partnering with us as we do short-term mission well.
