The very first trip for Youth Missions International was to Ukraine. A team that included the co-founders of the ministry headed to work with our close ministry partners, Awana Ukraine. Trips to Cherkasy, Odesa, and Kyiv strengthened this partnership and created multiple opportunities for engagement. Throughout the years we have had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside this amazing team.

Many of the missionaries we have worked with over the years have continued and seen amazing things happen in Ukraine. It has been a privilege to see the Awana ministry in Ukraine grow and thrive.

With the recent invasion of Ukraine by the Russian government, our hearts are hurting for our friends. We cannot speak to the entire country but we have been able to be stay updated about our ministry partners in the country.

So far, all of our contacts and friends are safe, but having to make some of the hardest decisions imaginable. Here are two resources to better know what is going on with the team in Ukraine.
